Naoki Honjo
I first met Mr. Honjo in 2007, when I organized an exhibition of his works at <Paul Smith> shop in Mayfair, London.
I first thought that all his photographs were of miniature models, however learned later that most of his production were taken with a large format camera from a helicopter, and that everything looks like miniature by his technique, adjusting depth of field, focusing or unfocusing objects to create his images. I was fascinated by the uniqueness of his art.
I really remember when I saw his pictures for the first time. I was just overwhelmed.

我第一次见到本城先生是在2007年伦敦梅菲尔〈Paul Smith〉为他策划的一场展览会上。
起初，我以为他的所有照片都是使用小模型拍摄的，后来才发现大部分作品都是在直升机上用大画幅相机拍摄的。由于了解到他是通过调整景深、聚焦和散焦来创作图像，才使一切看起来都很微型，他独特的作品风格让我深深的为之着迷。
我还记得当我第一次看到他的作品时，完全被震惊到了。
